Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN)

At St. Charles, rehabilitation patients are cared for skilled nurses who, in addition to becoming registered nurses, have also achieved the most specialized nursing certification available in the field of rehabilitation—CRRN.

To achieve the CRRN distinction, St. Charles nurses have demonstrated nursing skills, knowledge, experience and commitment to excellence in caring for people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses in all rehabilitation specialty areas, including in stroke, neurological diseases, brain injury, spinal cord injury, musculoskeletal injuries, and cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Three out of every four eligible nurses at St. Charles is a CRRN, including those working in the acute rehabilitation programs for adults and on the pediatric rehabilitation unit.

As members of each rehabilitation patient’s personal team of clinicians, CRRNs help ensure that each and every patient at St. Charles becomes as independent as possible.
