Free exercise classes at St. Charles Rehabilitation give individuals with arthritis the opportunity to exercise under the guidance of a St. Charles physical therapist.
Regular exercise is shown to help optimize blood sugar, regulate blood pressure and a foster a healthy weight. However, pain that results from arthritis can be a barrier to regular exercise.
During classes, a St. Charles physical therapist guides participants through exercises designed to increase strength and flexibility, reduce joint pain and promote physical activity.
Classes are offered in an eight-week format twice a year and take place at the St. Charles outpatient rehabilitation network location in Port Jefferson.
